CHATEAU MONTELENA

The Project
Chateau Montelena, one of California's most storied wineries (their 1973 Chardonnay famously bested top French wines at the 1976 "Judgment of Paris," the event the film Bottle Shock was based on), brought us in to capture the 2021 harvest. After the 2020 LNU Lightning Complex fires led the estate to forgo harvesting its Cabernet Sauvignon entirely that year, 2021 marked its return.

The Content
We produced a short brand film capturing the 2021 harvest at the estate, from vineyard to crush, framing the vintage as the comeback of Chateau Montelena's estate Cabernet Sauvignon after a year off.

The Impact
The film ran across Chateau Montelena's social channels, giving the winery's audience a firsthand look at the return of its flagship Cabernet after the 2020 fires.
