LEVI’S GRANFONDO 2025

When Bike Monkey reached out to us to help tell the story of Levi’s GranFondo 2025, we jumped at the opportunity to capture every twist, turn, and triumph of this world-class event—especially since it takes place in our own backyard of Sonoma County.

Our journey started weeks before race day. We teamed up with a group of riders to scout and film key sections of the legendary Growler route. Using our drone and gimbal-mounted follow-car footage, we created dynamic visuals to be used in the event’s live stream—offering viewers a perspective of the terrain that would challenge some of the best cyclists in the world.

In the week leading up to the race, we shifted focus to storytelling. We captured a series of in-depth interviews with pro men’s and women’s athletes, hosted by Matt Stephens and Hannah Walker. Their insights, combined with our cinematic visuals, helped build the anticipation and excitement leading up to race day.

As the event weekend kicked off, our team was on the ground covering the King Ridge Foundation’s Festa Gala—an evening filled with celebration, community, and purpose. The following day, we continued coverage at the pre-race festival, capturing sponsors, vendors, fans, and the electric energy in the air as riders prepared for the big day.

On race day, we pulled out all the stops. Our founder Justin Liddell piloted all of the live drone feed, capturing sweeping aerial shots of the race as it unfolded on the course. Meanwhile, we partnered with talented Jenny Keller Photography to lead our still photo coverage on the course. Back at the festival grounds, four more members of our crew captured video and photography of the race start, finish line moments, vendor highlights, sponsor activations, and festival fun.

By the end of the day, our team had gathered an enormous volume of content. In less than 24 hours, over 2,600 photos were uploaded for athletes, media, and press to download and share. Just three days later, we delivered a 5-minute event recap video featuring our team’s footage and added live stream footage from the Media Motos and BCC Live team that captured the emotion, excitement, and energy of Levi’s GranFondo—allowing viewers to relive the ride from start to finish.

With a $156,000 pro purse—split equally between men and women—Levi’s GranFondo now holds the title for the largest prize purse of any single-day road race in North America. It was an honor to help share this incredible milestone and be a part of something so meaningful in our own hometown.
