The Project
Since 2019, we’ve partnered with Pisoni Vineyards to craft a continuing series of films that bring their story and the rhythm of life in the Santa Lucia Highlands to the screen. Each film captures a new chapter: from the patience of winemaking and the passing of seasons to the hands that grow the grapes and make the wine. What began as a single story has evolved into an ongoing cinematic archive of the Pisoni family’s craft, care, and connection to the vineyard.
What We Captured
Across more than ten films, we’ve documented the vineyard through the lens of storytelling, blending authentic moments, natural light, and cinematic composition. From pruning and harvest to cellar work and family gatherings, each film captures the character of Pisoni’s land and legacy.
2025 - Upcoming Release in December
2024 - Gary Pisoni. Where My Journey Began. Gary Pisoni’s lifelong passion for farming and vision for cultivating the Santa Lucia Highlands transformed his family’s legacy and helped shape one of California’s most celebrated Pinot Noir regions.
2023 - Living by Night: Harvest at Pisoni Vineyards. Harvest at Pisoni is a nocturnal, orchestrated ritual that captures grapes at their coldest, uniting vineyard and winery in a seamless dance of precision and passion.
2022 - Sculpting Vines: The Art of Pruning. Winter pruning at Pisoni is a hands-on art, where each precise cut shapes the vine’s health, future harvest, and enduring legacy.
2021 - Forever Farmers: Sustainability at Pisoni Vineyards. Pisoni’s sustainable farming nurtures an entire ecosystem of soil, plants, and pollinators to create wines that truly reflect their place.
2020 - A Legend in the Highlands. Gary Pisoni’s relentless passion and pioneering spirit shaped the Santa Lucia Highlands and a family legacy of exceptional winemaking.
2020 - Beauty in Grafting. Pisoni’s dedication to tradition and precision begins with hand-selecting and grafting “mother vines” to cultivate exceptional Pinot Noir from the ground up.
2020 - The Story of Lucia: Exploring the Highlands. For Mark and Jeff Pisoni, every vineyard walk is a lesson in the land, deepening their lifelong connection to the vines and pursuit of exceptional wine.
2019 - Art. Science. Craft. The Magic of Winemaking. As harvest approaches, Jeff Pisoni guides the art and science of winemaking, transforming the season’s energy into the magic within each bottle.
2019 - Vines for Life. Planting new vines at Pisoni is an act of patience and legacy, laying roots today for harvests that will thrive for generations to come.
Why It Matters
This long-term collaboration reflects more than just the beauty of wine country, it’s about capturing time, tradition, and trust. By returning to the vineyard year after year, we’ve been able to tell a layered story that evolves with each season. The films invite viewers not just to see Pisoni Vineyards, but to feel the devotion, precision, and authenticity that define their work, and by extension, the values we share in how we tell stories.
