PRE-PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION, POST-PRODUCTION
SANTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE
The Project
Since 2024, Definition Films has partnered with Santa Rosa Junior College to create a series of films that reflect the heart of the campus, the diversity of its students, and the strength of its academic programs. What began as a single promotional project quickly grew into a multi-year collaboration. After producing a suite of Program Promotional Videos, we were invited to craft two campus-wide pieces: the Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) film and the You Are Welcome Here film, both focused on inclusivity, belonging, and student success.
In 2025, our partnership expanded even further. SRJC entrusted us with producing 32 Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) films, each spotlighting a specific major, from business to sociology, and beyond.
What We Captured
Across our ongoing partnership with SRJC, our creative approach has centered on authenticity, representation, and real student experience. We’ve captured a wide range of interviews with faculty, staff, and students, gathering personal stories that reflect the heart of each program and the diversity of the SRJC community.
Our team has filmed dynamic broll throughout classrooms, labs, and campus spaces, showcasing hands-on learning, modern facilities, and the energy of everyday student life. From program-specific environments and equipment to broader campus moments, each project was crafted to highlight opportunity, inclusivity, and the pathways SRJC provides.
To ensure content reached every corner of SRJC’s community, we delivered fully accessible versions, including English and Spanish cuts, closed captions, and social-optimized edits in both vertical and horizontal formats.
Across every project, the creative direction remained unified, clear, relatable, and rooted in real people, while giving each story its own identity and purpose.
2025 - ADT Major Exploration. 32 ADT films, each highlighting a major and showcasing how the ADT guarantees admission to many California universities and provides a clear, efficient path to a bachelor’s degree. View the full lineup of ADT videos here.
2024 - You Are Welcome Here. At SRJC, everyone is welcome, regardless of story, background, or beliefs, because we believe all students deserve access to an education that opens doors, builds futures, and unites us as one community.
2024 - Hispanic Serving Institution. Santa Rosa Junior College has been recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) since 2014, a U.S. Department of Education designation for colleges where at least 25% of full-time undergraduates identify as Hispanic.
2024 - Program Promotional Series. 11 program-specific promotional videos, designed as social media ads and full-length videos.
Why It Matters
Choosing a major is a defining moment for prospective students. These films were created to make that decision clearer, more informed, and more inspiring.
This multi-year body of work:
Gives future SRJC students an authentic look at what each major truly offers
Amplifies diverse voices and reaffirms SRJC’s commitment as an inclusive, Hispanic-Serving Institution
Supports recruitment efforts by providing clear, engaging visuals that meet students where they are—online, on social, and across campus
Strengthens SRJC’s ability to showcase its academic excellence, dedicated faculty, and supportive learning environments
What started as one project has grown into a meaningful relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and shared purpose. We’re proud to help tell SRJC’s story, and even more proud of the impact these films will have on the next generation of students finding their path.
