BECOMING INDEPENDENT

The Project

Since 2019, we’ve partnered with Becoming Independent to help tell the stories that power their most important moments of the year. What began as annual Fund a Need films has grown into a multi-year creative collaboration centered on honoring individuals, celebrating community partners, and clearly communicating BI’s mission of empowering people with disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives.

The Content

Each year, our Fund a Need films focus on real people and real outcomes, highlighting BI participants, staff, and programs through thoughtful interviews and intentional, documentary-style visuals. These films are crafted to feel personal, hopeful, and grounded in impact, giving audiences a clear understanding of how their support directly changes lives.

In 2025, the partnership expanded with the launch of the BI Spotlight Awards, where we produced multiple films recognizing standout businesses and leaders in the community, as well as excellence within BI’s own organization. Each piece was designed to spotlight values, partnership, and shared commitment, balancing warmth with polish, and emotion with clarity.

The Impact

These films have become a consistent storytelling pillar for Becoming Independent, supporting fundraising efforts, strengthening donor engagement, and elevating the organization’s presence within the broader Sonoma County community. From driving momentum during live events to honoring the people and partners who make BI’s work possible, the films help translate mission into meaning, year after year.
